Power words
Words are very powerful. They influence you and your audience. In your marketing you need to be sure that the words you use are having the effect you desire. You want people to respond positively by making your communication sound upbeat and constructive. Avoid negative words and focus on what you or your audience can and will do. Tie yourself to solutions.
Negative language
Negative language includes: 'Why not visit our website' or 'why don't you visit our website' or 'Don't forget to visit our website'. You may think that these phrases will encourage people to seek out your website but the opposite is true. People switch off when reading negative words. How many of you still finish a letter or email with 'Don't hesitate to contact me. . . '? You might as well write 'Hesitate to contact me'.
Positive language
Positive communication encourages cooperation. You will be seen as someone who can complete, someone who provides solutions, and people will move towards you and your business
